Overnight approx. 10cm (pass at 1220m) to 20cm (mountain station at approx. 1420m) of fresh snow. Relatively powdery, but getting worse (and less) towards the bottom. A little below 1300m it may have rained at the beginning. You could feel the boundary when skiing - suddenly the old snow cover could be clearly felt under the fresh snow. Light snowfall began in the afternoon, which then intensified noticeably. We are expecting around 10-15 cm of fresh snow by tomorrow morning (if it continues to snow a little further - at the moment there is still light snowfall in the valley at around 730 m) and the amount of snow - above around 1300 m - is such that even the (sometimes severe) wind breaks of the past few weeks do not prevent skiing in the forest, but in some cases make it more exciting as a "natural slalom" and "natural jumps".

Powder snow further up. Mixture of wet snow and drier snow further down. But overall very good to ski.

Risks

Windy all day with corresponding drifts in the alpine terrain. However, we were only below the tree line and couldn't see any signs. In alpine terrain, the nightly snowfall and drifts are critical.

Overall impression

Beautiful day with a nice winter feeling, initially even a few small windows of sunshine and beautiful views towards the (sunny) Hochschwab massif.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
