Freeride tour of the week | White Hare - Grindelwald
Roger Fischer • 03/01/2015White Hare is THE classic in Grindelwald. And the snow in the shadow of the north face of the Eiger promises powder fun until April. Even days after the last snowfall, the wide slope is still not completely covered because you can't get there without a 10 to 20-minute ascent. You can read how the route got its name in the book with the best freeride runs in the Jungfrau Region... -

Ski touring race of superlatives: The Patrouille des Glaciers | Report
Roger Fischer • 05/12/2014After every Patrouille des Glaciers, I had decided that this would be my last participation in this extreme ski touring race. But once again, I couldn't resist the request from my friends Marc White and Daniel Huguet to join them on the next Patrouille des Glacier. -

Freeride tour of the week | From the Faulhorn to Grindelwald
Roger Fischer • 02/02/2014Ascend 400 meters in altitude to descend over 2000 meters. And this in the midst of a breathtaking mountain panorama. From the Faulhorn, you have a magnificent view of the Bernese 4000-metre peaks and, in contrast, you can also see Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, 2000 meters below. Due to its southern exposure, this tour is often only recommended in high winter and when there is good snow cover. -

Freeride tour of the week | From the Schilthorn through the Soustal to Isenfluh
Roger Fischer • 03/10/2013The insider tip par excellence for a long freeride descent over 1800 vertical meters, ideal in March as a final descent after a great freeride day on the Schilthorn. Every time, you will be amazed at how little snow there is and how powdery the snow still is here on the steep north-facing slopes in spring. And this even after three-week dry spells. The wild Sous Valley also has a lot to offer in terms of scenery. Below you will find the tour description in the form of an excerpt from the new book "Freeride Guide Jungfrau Region" published this winter
