Firntour bei Wildbad Kreuth - südseitiges Resteessen

Snow condition
Let's start at the bottom - as is usual on a tour. We were able to walk well from the parking lot, and the entire tour to the top was "actually" enough. Around 30cm in the valley, more at the top depending on the exposure - estimated at just over 1m. Pure south-facing slopes further down, below 1200m, but already snow-free. Further up still 0k, but there should be meadow underneath.
Snow quality
Sun-exposed firn from 12h. On the north side there is powder in places, we didn't look above 1700m. Everything froze in the shade down to the bottom or thawed slightly during the course of the day. The later the day, the snowier - it's almost like spring snow. So it's very dependent on the exposure ... I still doubt whether it will really freeze through to the bottom. I give it 3 stars because of the good firn.
Risks
Nothing observed, would also assume that it is quite safe here at the moment. The risk of falling is greater on steeper projects - as we are old men, we went with crampons.
Overall impression
The firn at the top made up for the choppy snow at the bottom. Nice to be outside, there would certainly have been better snow somewhere else (given more time).
