Snow condition
Better than in the northern French part, but still not enough for proper touring with 30 to 40 cm from 2000 m. As always, it's pretty blown off at the top. Even if it looks quite tempting in places, leaving the artificial snow bands is like a material battle. One snowfall and it could be quite good > 2000 m. I still give it two stars because it has looked much worse here in previous winters.
Snow quality
Hard and wind-pressed. Preferably directly under the running snow cannons in the shade. That says it all.
Risks
Nothing to see. Everything is rock hard in the shade, not much snow in the sun anyway...
Overall impression
Scenic, great ski area with varied, extensive terrain and some freeride potential when there is fresh snow. With the few cosmetic centimetres that are currently lying around, it's better to stay on the artificial snow highways. It is remarkable that there are sometimes more ski tourers on the artificial snow bands than skiers: crazy people, the Catalans
