I last climbed the gully in 2015 at pretty much the same time. This year there is more snow and you can climb through to the top. so you have 500 meters of descent with an ascent of around 400m ;-)
Snow quality
Beautiful, firm summer firn. Unfortunately, the gully is somewhat exposed to falling rocks and there are several small stones on the snow surface. a little annoying on the descent but not bad
Risks
Everything is well consolidated, nothing comes down here. Watch out for snow bridges at the edge of the crevasses and for falling rocks from chamois. (Don't forget your helmet)
Overall impression
With 33 degrees in the valley, the temperatures in the shady gully were very pleasant. I think you can still ride the whole thing in the next 2 weeks. If you want to know where exactly just write me a message ;-)
