Snow condition

There it is, the north-west traffic jam! And bang, you can ride all the way down. Now you can even venture down forest slopes. At 900m in the area about 60 cm, further up and in the lee it goes towards 1 m+and it continues to snow!

Snow quality

It was still a little warm during the night, with a fairly compact layer in the middle of the snow cover. On the other hand, the wind largely stopped during the night and it got colder towards the morning. As a result, the top 30cm is nice and loose

Extremely tense. Heavy snow with wind on top of the surface rime/powder and then again loose snow over the drift snow. On the local mountain, where virtually everything is below 30 degrees, you could constantly hear settling noises. Also, after a hairpin bend, also well below 30 degrees, a crack was created with a slight hop, which went down to the old snow (see picture).I would completely agree with the LLB. Restraint is the order of the day!

Overall impression

Finally, the kind of snow you want! Let's just hope that another foehn storm doesn't come right away...

Until then, you can have lots of fun - but only on the flat. The avalanche situation is pretty scary.
