Snow condition

3 von 5 Sterne

At 2000m there's about 70cm of fresh snow, but in the valley at 1100m there's only 2cm of slush and just enough artificial snow on the piste to get down safely. So nothing off the piste. From 1500 onwards, the fresh snow accumulation (on mostly no base) becomes usable with around 30cm. Despite the high snow line, I give it three stars because something usable has finally arrived at the top.

Snow quality

Due to the high temperatures, the snow was quite heavy and reasonably good to ski on at 2000m, but then sticky further down.

Risks

A 4 was issued, I can only confirm that. Everything above 30° is about to settle or spontaneously go down as a snow slab. A lot of tension in the snowpack, even in the forest, due to the sticky fresh snow and the large amounts.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Finally something is happening! Lots of fresh snow from 1800m in the area. Nevertheless, you should be very careful and hold back. Due to the tense situation, only very little can be done and due to the high snow line and poor visibility above the tree line, there is only a relatively narrow window in the forest where it is easy to ski.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
