From PP, in Scharnitz, absolutely enough snow. Generally free choice of route, even in the forest, no stone or ground contact all day.
Snow quality
Well, yes!!! Today in Scharnitz, plus degrees. Already quite warm in the afternoon in the sun. The snow is already covered on the south side. Still good pow to be found on the north side. However, it lies on a crust that is not always stable. Old tracks are often quite hard and covered with snow on the surface. Unrestricted enjoyment is not possible, but it was still quite nice.
Risks
Very strong SW wind overnight. It must have moved a lot of snow. That's why the avalanche was at level 3 again this morning. On the ascent, there were always cracks in the snow cover. On the descent, we repeatedly triggered small, localized loose snow slides. Overall quite tricky and that's why no steeper sections were possible today. Due to the warming and the cold night, I expect the snowpack to settle and stabilize significantly tomorrow.
Overall impression
Weather surprisingly good in the afternoon. Snow in principle too, if you know where to find untracked terrain. Today the north side was the better choice.
