Snow condition

more than sufficient. all obstacles well snow-covered, hardly any blown-off spots, free choice of line possible without restrictions (exception: run-off sliding snow!)

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

good, cold, settled powder on the west, north and east sides. exposed on the south and south side, already capped, sometimes very unpleasant. hardly any wind influence in the snowpack. the fresh snow on sa. came almost without wind influence, in the range of 1,400-2,500m.

Risks

gliding snow is the topic. everywhere, up to 2,500m, there are huge gliding snowfalls, with gigantic deposits in the avalanche run-out area. these avalanche cones are sometimes quite difficult to cross and not everything has come down yet. many gliding snow mouths are still hanging in slopes that are not visible from the valley.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

very nice weekend in the west. lechtal. great snow, brilliant fresh pow, great weather, great tours.
only the sliding snow issue clouds the fun considerably. keep your eyes open, it remains dangerous!
