Snow report Central Switzerland, 04/18/2016
Melde mich zurück nach vierwöchigen Rippenbruch-Verletzungspause. Mein Comeback gab ich heute bei erstaunlich guten Bedingungen auf dem Titlis.

Snow condition
A good 20 centimetres have fallen in the last few days. Thanks to this, it was even possible to ski the foliage up to Gerschnialp at around 1400 meters. The snow conditions in Steinberg and Sulz are still very good. There are only a few stones sticking out at the exit.
Snow quality
No, it's not really winter anymore, even at 3000 meters. Nevertheless, the snow in the morning was quite fluffy and very good for the end of April. There were even face shots in the bends. But after 10.30 it became much heavier. And tomorrow... I'm sorry... there's going to be a big lid to spoil the powder fun.
Risks
SLF reports warning level 3: The fresh snow has fallen on a hard, partially soaked base. It was noticeable that there was no connection. Around midday, when the snow became heavier, the steep slopes started to slide. I then stopped.
Overall impression
A successful and unexpectedly good powder day towards the end of April. There's nothing to complain about. As usual in Engelberg, the terrain is completely plowed up after one day. Now you need climbing skins to have any fun. Wendellücke was still completely untracked today.
