Snow condition

In the rear Montafon, the situation is much better compared to the front valley. If you can, you should head towards the Silvretta. Stones etc. are also a problem here but far better than on the borders to the Rätikon.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

There is significantly more and better snow here. The wind was not as aggressive and the load was significantly lower. Nevertheless, a rain crust can also be found here up to 2400m. Above that it decreases quickly. We weren't above 2500m today.

Risks

As before, the loads are also clearly visible here. They are so large that you can hardly miss them, even if they are snowed in. The situation has eased considerably. Today we were able to find good snow in +40° terrain and it felt very safe.

Update from yesterday, as it's a different area. It's getting better further down the valley and the amount and quality of snow is increasing. The loads are decreasing.

Tomorrow we'll probably head up to the Silvretta.
