Not much snow for the time of year, of course. Nevertheless, you could ski the whole tour without hesitation, even in the forest. On the north side, I would say there was even more snow than two weeks ago. Even less on the south side, where it looks snow-covered almost all the way to the top (Siplinger Kopf etc.).

Snow quality

Really fine in the forest in the morning. 15-20cm of barely damp powder, great for play around. Above it was also great in places. But sometimes it was also very changeable - one turn super deep, the next on ice. On the final descent at 3pm, the snow was already very wet and exhausting to ski.

Risks

Very strong wind near the ridge. We therefore decided not to ski the summit slope of the Feuerstätterkopf as a precaution. It didn't seem worthwhile for us to ski around the outside and the direct summit slope with approx. 35 degrees was too steep for us, I sank in 30cm deep when making tracks there and the snow had been worked by the wind.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Actually, this would be the time of year for completely different tours, but it was still a lot of fun Subjective 3 stars for hopping around in the forest
