Snow report Arlberg, 10/24/2014

klebrige und pappige Pisten-Skitour (1.600-2.600m). Das Gelände war uns noch zu suspekt, obwohl die Schindlerrinnen (ca. 40°) schon befahren wurden ...

There is something there. Still quite homogeneous up to about 1800 m. From then on, it fluctuates between 0 and 100+x cm.

Moist. Sticky. Cardboardy: Perfect conditions for injuries.

Risks

Snow has settled well due to the constant temperatures above 0° (even at 2,600 >0°), but has also lost some of its firmness. On steep meadow slopes, some is already sliding down. We could only observe chunks of snow rolling down. In addition to avalanches, stones and other obstacles are also a source of danger.

Overall impression

Nice to have been outside. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't as good as forecast. Skiing still felt strange. The snow will last a few more days for uphill skiing, but the downhill skiing will only get better when there are clear nights.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
