gemischte Gefühle im Westen

Snow condition
Snow conditions are ok for the time of year. Powdering in the forest is not quite enough. There are still too many sharks at the top to give it 3 stars. The choice of lines is very limited, especially below 2000m. Even above that, shred with caution. There is only a good base in gullies and hollows as well as on the large north side.
Snow quality
Fluffy powder in the forest. Above the forest line, fast wind and sun-drenched muck snow cover. You can ski it to practise your technique. But we were definitely on the wrong exposure today (original plan had to be scrapped because the pass was closed), the east side was definitely not so great. Harsh and windswept through and through
Risks
There was nothing to observe. The choice of lines was very defensive today and there were also no descents in the area - only the warming in the steep east-facing terrain could be a danger. And from this evening the fresh snowfall with unfortunately a bit too much wind.
Overall impression
It's definitely worth it, but overall I was a bit disappointed with the snow conditions in Belledonne. You should definitely favor high touring starts if you like your skis and avoid the forest for a few more days until the base is really sufficient.
