Snow report Salzburger Land North, 03/10/2017

Overall impression
Snow condition
Two stars, because the high altitudes are looking a bit nicer for the first time this winter, with nothing at all on the north side up to around 1000-1200m, so wear is inevitable almost everywhere. From here on, the fresh snow starts, quite a long time, quite little, above about 1800m there is more, but very irregularly distributed due to the strong wind.
Snow quality
Tendency rather downwards, but still quite ok. From 1100-1500m, dust-dry dust on rock-hard crust, but in contrast to the last few days, it's nice and fast to ride. 1600m is the best part, when protected from the wind and in the forest - reasonably deep and only slightly influenced by the wind. extreme wind influence in the open terrain above the tree line: very small-scale changing conditions, man-high drifts next to deep-filled trenches, but only sporadic powder.
Risks
In the forest (especially further down) completely unproblematic, above the tree line extreme loads, two block tests at about 2000m could not be triggered, but the whole thing changes very small-scale. We didn't do the (beautiful) summit slope, we weren't comfortable with it (others did it).
Overall impression
Despite having to do without, it was actually quite nice.great ambience, winter feeling (upstairs!) and great weather.we expected a bit more of the better snow, but you take what you get!
