Snow condition
Snow conditions are below average even after the last snowfall. The wind has probably blown some of the snow away again. You have to walk the last part of the descent to the wild pit and from the gondola it looked as if the road had already been cleared.
Snow quality
On the south side of the Stubai Wildspitze, the snow was still powdery in places. In general, however, wind-pressed snow and blown-off slopes are to be expected. Schaufelspitze Nord, for example, looked completely blown away and hard. With a bit of luck and a good eye, however, you can still find powder snow.
Risks
A few snow slabs could be seen. Next to the eastern Daunkogel in the north-facing area from the last few days, an older crack edge in the area of the gullies below the apery Pfaffengrat. Due to the strong winds of the last few days, attention should be paid to drift snow close to the ridge.
Overall impression
Beautiful tour to prepare for the steep face season, the south side of the Stubai Wildspitze is easily visible from the area and the 2er Wildspitz lift. Despite its easy accessibility, it is probably only very rarely climbed and descended. The upper part is approx. 45 degrees steep, the gully in the lower part is much flatter. However, it needs enough snow, is partly stony and narrow. Today it was just about rideable throughout.
