Geniale Frühlingsskitour am Sonnekopf
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
There is still some snow to be dusted off on northern slopes, but you should always be on your guard against stones as even at 2200m there is modestly little for this time of year. Below 1500m you can expect regular contact with stones or meadows.
Snow quality
The quality is very mixed, on the one hand you even get the odd powder slope above 2000m on north-facing slopes, but only 200m further down the slope it turns out to be a harsch catastophe. Harsh or icy patches must always be expected, even if it is nice and fluffy from time to time.
Risks
Pretty much every slope was safe, of course there are still the loaded north-facing slopes (> 40 degrees), which still pose a risk, but many slopes could be skied without any further problems. On the south-facing slopes, the danger of sliding snow avalanches is mentioned in the LLB for a reason.
Overall impression
He who seeks shall find ... according to the motto, you have to put up with a few hardships and you'll still find what you're looking for. Those who prefer a spring tour in high winter are also very lucky at the moment.
