Snow report La Grave, 01/29/2017

Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
Descent only possible up to the P2 gondola. P1 gondola support only possible with a lot of rock contact and/or walking.
Snow quality
Powder is no longer to be found. Sometimes slightly slushy due to rising temperatures further down. The entire variant area is a huge mogul slope. Steeper sections are often icy. There are more and more blown-off spots and larger stones often peek out
Risks
Hardly existent in the variant area. Only in the run-out area of the Séracabbrüche in the interdite zone can you get into stupid things with bad luck. Apart from a mini dust avalanche below la Meije, nothing could be observed. Nevertheless, there was a 3 in the area, which probably applies more to the wilder ventures and is due to the rising temperatures
Overall impression
Altogether a nice day to escape the smog in Grenoble and ride out the equipment between the humps. Unfortunately, more serious undertakings are almost impossible at the moment. However, a change in the weather is in sight in the form of a small front that will hopefully bring a few centimeters of fresh snow.
