Viel Wind im hintersten Montafon (Silvretta)
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
Not much of the fresh snow seems to have arrived here. Due to the storm, it is not possible to give any reliable information. Exposed areas are bare. There may well be enough snow downwind. It seems to be homogeneous up to the tree line. Below approx. 1300 m, there is simply not enough snow on the shady side. On the sunny side, it looks very brown up to the tree line. If the lines are adapted to the snow conditions in terms of exposure, then you can already enjoy longer descents.
Snow quality
The snow quality in the terrain varies greatly depending on the exposure and is influenced by the wind. You will find areas that are blown in and well covered in snow and there is a change from little snow to bare snow on crests and ridges. The snow in these places is often hard-packed. Where the sun hit powder snow today, it was heavy up to over 2000 m and if that was the case yesterday, then it was broken snow today. The slush will be more pronounced tomorrow.
Risks
There are many chutes on extremely steep terrain of smaller dimensions, but most of them are slightly snow-covered. Mostly on the shaded side. Although LWS 2 prevails, it has an old snow problem at altitudes > 2200 m. In the terrain there are many transitions from a little to a lot of snow that can be assessed locally.
Overall impression
High activity here! The vacations have started. It feels like touring skiers are swapping routes to all kinds of peaks. The standard routes have all been skied. But you can still enjoy the beautiful weather and the winter landscape. Tomorrow it's supposed to get foehny again and then a cold front will follow with supplies but again with wind ;-)
