Snow report Upper Black Forest, 02/07/2014
Erst Föhnsturm, dann Weststurm der wilden Sorte. Bisschen Neuschnee mit sehr viel Wind auf sehr bescheidene Unterlage…

Snow condition
Very poor, there's no other way to put it. It can be skied down to >1000 m, but only because there are meadows underneath. It looks even worse on the south side. I give it 2 stars, but that's actually a rounding up from 1.5.
Snow quality
The precipitation on Friday fell almost continuously as rain. Didn't do the thin snow cover any good. Not at all! Then it got cold and the wind really picked up, which didn't do the snow cover any good either.
Risks
No problems today, tomorrow I would be very, very careful! On the way back I went up a small > 35° slope in poor visibility. Almost didn't make it up. The blown-in fresh snow slides away very quickly. Every flake that falls on the plateaus ends up in one of the holes. However, many of the slopes there are so covered in avalanche debris that this probably stabilizes them for the time being. Nevertheless, I would be careful.
Overall impression
Well, what the heck. Good or even just satisfying is different. I like wild weather and that's it...
