Snow condition

Now there is snow everywhere (except for the blown-off ridges). And unlike after some other snowfalls this season, with a bit of a base. Descents down into the valley to Axams were attempted. It was enough all the way down, but you shouldn't be too fond of your skis. Otherwise, almost everything is skiable, although you still have to reckon with stone contact on non-northern slopes. The amount of fresh snow from this week will be around 15-25 cm.

The snow is still pretty decent cold powder in many areas. Above the tree line, it's often heavily blown. On the east and south sides there is sometimes a small crust (but only very rarely). It's really fun in the trees! But sometimes you can also get through the loose snow onto a bumpy frozen surface.

Risks

According to LLB 2/3: from 2200m altitude 3, i.e. in the Lizum from the Hoadl Haus (2340m) approx. 100m downhill. Nevertheless, quite blown-in slopes were skied at this altitude. Unlike in the last two weeks, however, no spontaneous snow slabs or snow slabs triggered by athletes could be seen. However, warning signs are definitely present and due to the events of the last few days, you should still be careful in any case!

Overall impression

Now it is. 3 stars in view of the situation so far and also more of a 3. The first powder turns without panic about what might be under the snow cover were also included. With the next snowfall there will be a lot to ski. Unfortunately, the ridges at the top are still very blown off...

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
