Snow report Salzburger Land North, 02/17/2019
Heiß, aber trotzdem gut

Overall impression
Snow condition
Still very good. Low and south-facing, as well as in places exposed to the wind, it's less so, but everything else is great. Very nice when you can cruise through the villages from the mountains into the valley.
Snow quality
Already very much tracked, but in principle surprisingly good. In the shade on open areas down to the powder, but also quite good to ride in sunny areas. Only really bad in the low-lying, dense forests - there's such cardboardy, dull felt.
Risks
Very manageable - if you leave out the passages where there is a risk of sliding snow. You should really avoid these areas, as there is often still a lot hanging in there, otherwise everything is very set and stable.
Overall impression
A fine morning with a long descent all the way down into the valley (approx. 550m above sea level). And even there, there's still a good meter of snow on the snow side.
However, there was a bit too much going on for me and there is already quite a lot of track - even if you can still find good areas with a bit of searching.
The heat is annoying though...
