Snow condition
Snow conditions are still good, but on the south side it's slowly getting scarce again, there's not much left below 1600m.
Snow quality
Below 2200m it is glassy due to the rain, sometimes quite rough due to "drainage channels". Above that, mostly wind-pressed with a few centimetres of drift snow. It was quite nice to ride.
Risks
Below 2200m there were some wet snow and sliding snow avalanches from the last few days. But wet snow wasn't an issue today as it had been frozen through all day, and there were no spontaneous dry snow slabs to be seen, which surprised me a little after 2 days of level 4. In general, the new and drifting snow at higher altitudes made a very well consolidated impression. Due to the strong foehn wind, however, snow was transported throughout the day, especially close to the ridges (see photo). This should be assessed critically.
Overall impression
Significantly better than the day before yesterday, but you're still spoiled by Advent. Beautiful weather and reasonably good snow at altitude made the day worthwhile, despite the strong wind.
