On the Whitsun weekend, it was possible to ski right up to the front door of the Hotel Steingletscher. It was tight at the bottom, but no problem. Further up, the glacier is very well snowed in. There is still plenty to do here for a while yet.

Sunday 3 stars, Monday then catastrophic. Dripping wet at the bottom, between 2600m and 3000m almost unrideable broken snow, cornering was the order of the day... Halfway rideable at the top. Sunday was clearly the better day in terms of snow and weather. If a more stable high finally arrives, a trip to the Sustenpass will certainly be worthwhile again. The ambience and landscape are beautiful...

Risks

Last week's fresh snow was prone to disruption in steep areas. On the steep northern flank of the Gwächtenhorn, a touring skier released a board on Sunday but was able to ski out.

Sunday top, Monday flop.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
