From the bridge at a good 1100 meters, snow throughout, on the way to Jochbachtal a little thin in places but currently still continuous. I think it will continue for at least the whole of next week without any major stretches. In the lower part of the gully, an old avalanche makes walking a little more difficult, but it's also fine.

Overnight, a few centimetres of snow has formed, which is absolutely no problem on skis. On foot you break through in places. Accordingly, the time window for really good firn is a bit short, and Kreuzkopf is south-facing. When we arrived at 10:40 it was better in the parts of the slope facing southwest. Deeper towards the southeast, but still easy to ski. On the other hand, the whole slope was slightly soft at the bottom and also great to ride. In total, about 80% of the turns were in really super firn and it was easy to see where it was good and where it wasn't quite so good.

Risks

Certainly not uncritical in the afternoon with the temperatures. Didn't make any interesting observations regarding the avalanche situation on the tour. On the ascent, the risk of falling on the hard snow should not be underestimated, crampons make it much more pleasant.

Dream! Super weather, super scenery and a really great descent. As long as it keeps freezing at night, it will get even better every day :-) In addition to the snow quality and avalanche risk, the heat also speaks in favor of an early start, which was really cool today with no wind.
