Snow condition

Today we were on the north-west side with a starting altitude of 1200 m. The snow conditions are quite manageable, especially in the forest. Especially on the descent, you should navigate quite defensively through the forest aisles. It is just enough without contact with the enemy. With increasing altitude, the influence of the wind becomes apparent. Some exposed sections are icy and cleared of snow. We were able to freely choose the line of descent from approx. 2200 m and therefore get 2 stars.

Snow quality

Surprisingly good. Above the tree line, beautiful powder snow. Towards the tree line, you could feel the hard old snow cover from time to time. Still good in the forest, but unfortunately not enough snow for safe skiing. Still 3 stars.

Risks

Quite relaxed on our tour today. The snow cover seemed quite stable throughout the tour. Above the tree line, we encountered manageable amounts of drift snow, which was not easily disturbed. Due to the spring-like temperatures, an early start is advisable.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Good weather, a nice group of people, not much going on on the way to our destination and usable downhill conditions - our expectations were more or less exceeded. Quote of the day: I'm looking forward to next winter, when there will definitely be more snow.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
