Snow condition
The snow conditions up on the glacier are outstanding. I've rarely seen so much snow of all kinds in recent years. Unfortunately, there are still a few sharks under the snow cover, which is why one star is deducted.
Snow quality
Approx. 30cm of fresh snow on top. Super fluffy at the beginning due to the cold temperatures. Also little to no wind influence. Due to the sunlight, however, it gets a bit heavier during the day on direct sunny slopes.
Risks
According to the LWD a 3. There was also a lot of fresh snow on the Stubai Glacier. I didn't see any snow slabs today. In my opinion, the fresh snow fell almost without the influence of wind. Nevertheless, a bit of restraint can't hurt. Even though people actually skied the Schaufelspitze Nord today...
Overall impression
Because of the rather bad weather forecast, I went to the Schlick, did a run (there was only 5cm of fresh snow on hard ground) and saw on the webcam that the weather on the Stubai Glacier was good. Definitely the right decision to continue there. Nice runs in good and quite deep powder with great snow conditions. Makes me want to go to the Stubai Glacier in spring, there's still a lot possible this winter!
The only negative thing today was the durability of the Marker bindings..
