Snow condition

As the tour progressed, we noticed that the snow cover was settling. This again significantly reduces the number of ground contacts.

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

Despite the settling, the powder was once again amazing! The sinking depths were no longer as extreme as yesterday. Nevertheless, there were still one or two face shots. Tomorrow, however, the quality will almost certainly be significantly worse.

Risks

Today you could at least see some high alpine terrain. The wind tracks are gigantic. Wind-exposed flanks are almost completely blown off. We were able to recognize a self-triggered descent in high alpine terrain (opposite). On the lee side with a steepness of around 30°-35° with medium to large dimensions! In the forest we could recognize some small loose snow avalanches. Much less sluff today due to the settling.

Super start to the new year! We can continue like this.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
