Snow condition
In the ski area, you have to be careful not to fall through the softer snow or catch one of the many sharks. A lot of vegetables and stones are sticking out, especially on crests and ridges. Overall, however, the snow conditions down to the bottom are at least usable as a base for the next snowfall.
Snow quality
Rating only applies to the ski area and the immediate vicinity:Today it was extremely variable from blown in, to cover to ice and back. Below about 1800m there was a crust, which was partially softened in the sun. For the most part it was a 1 and more fun to carve on the empty slope. But as there were still a few nice turns from time to time and the (envious) view over to the Kalkkögeln still promises quite nice snow on the shaded side, I'll give it a 2.
Risks
Everything looked super safe today, even in the Kalkkögel gullies. There was hoarfrost over 1700m today. Let's hope it thins out before the snow starts tomorrow.
Overall impression
Superb weather, empty pistes and a bit of thigh training in the chopped-up snow. Could be worse, but also better.
Steeper and with skins, it would definitely have been 3-4 stars today.
