Snow condition
Above 2000 m, where we were today, clearly 4 stars. There is more snow than there has been for a long time, between 2 and 3 meters, similar to Andorra, which is just one mountain range away.
Snow quality
Perfect. In Les Angles it snowed maybe 2 cm tonight, but in/and behind the ski area there was between 10 and 40 (incl. drift snow) cm of fresh snow (extremely variable locally, also due to the gale-force wind), which was very loose due to the cold wind and icy temperatures.
Risks
Quite tricky because of the wind. Large, steep south-facing slopes packed with snow packs. As the week progresses, diurnal warming will become increasingly important as it gets warmer. The sun is already very strong!
Overall impression
A pretty unexpected powder day today, it can go on like this :)
