Snow condition
In the area between Gefrorener Wand and Hoher Riffler we came down on a snow band to roughly 2400 meters. I've never been here before, so I can't really put it into perspective and am using yesterday's CR as a guide.
Snow quality
Until the day before yesterday, it snowed again in the high altitudes, but the snow hasn't solidified enough for firn. So it was pretty mixed: slush in the morning, quickly wet by lunchtime. Only lower down, from 2600 meters we had super good firn :-)
Risks
My colleague triggered a wet snow slide on the traverse from the ski area into the terrain. The high Riffler looked too steep for today when we arrived in the ski area and without any local knowledge. But it was done by several people and apparently went well.
Overall impression
Tomorrow will certainly be even better with the sun today and the forecast of a clear night :-)
Margin note: The concept of the cable cars to protect against infection seems rather flimsy, however: it's as crowded as ever, masks are only put on by many before passing through the turnstile and the gondolas are all fully occupied.
