Snow condition

today we did the schneeglocke from the bielerhöhe. snow from about 2200m, just before the klostertaler umwelthütte. i have never skied this far down at this time of year!

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

after a clear night, hard and grippy. up to the ski depot, doable without crampons. on the descent, via the variant, directly to the hut, up to about half of the descent, the very best firn, carrying. then deep snow, changing to summer snow from the hut.

Risks

not as tricky in the area as described in the llb of switzerland. there has been plenty of fresh snow, some of which has already slipped away, but the clear night has stabilized the whole thing perfectly.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

if it had still been completely snow-covered on the descent, unreservedly 5 stars. so just four: for the relatively deep snow line, the absolutely sufficient amount of snow, the beautiful weather and the perfect end to the season.
info: the silvretta high alpine road has been open since yesterday. you can only stay overnight in the madlenerhs. from 20.06. we stayed at the piz buin guesthouse (incl. silvretta guest card. this means the road is free to use. "thermo-breakfast", at any time.)
the tour is certainly still feasible for some time. there is still an above-average amount of snow. after the hut, there may be some shorter passages when it snows out there. all the bridges are already in place.
use: approx. 1h mtb, currently no ski carrying, approx. 1200hm).
today a total of 12 people on the mountain. piz buin was also done several times. snow there, from wiesbadner hütte.
