Überraschung im Mangfallgebirge

Overall impression
Snow condition
We started today on the north side at approx. 850 m. There was about 25 cm there. Thanks to a forest path, the ascent and descent were possible without any problems. As the altitude increased, so did the amount of snow, so that at approx. 1300 m there was approx. 50 cm. The last 10 cm to 15 cm fell without the influence of the wind and now nicely cover drift snow packs as well as stones and other terrain traps. The amount of snow is still very inhomogeneous with the influence of the wind. The western sides are not inviting for skiing.
Snow quality
Absolutely good, cold fluffy powder snow. Finally snow that fell without wind. Today's snowfall accompanied us on the entire tour.
Risks
After the experiences of the last few days, we chose an area with less than or equal to 30 degrees. This area was also quite sheltered from the wind. This was a good thing, because the loose fresh snow covers all the dangers and these are now very difficult to spot. Today we had a boom in a very flat section. Otherwise there were no incidents.
Overall impression
A surprisingly good day! We wouldn't have expected this quality of snow today.
