Snow condition
It was my first time there, so I can't make a comparison with the average spring; you can ski down continuously or climb up with skins from about 1900m (a few hundred meters behind the material cable car, where the cabs already go). The glacier lake is still stable and should remain so during the night. The glacier itself is still well covered in snow (we were the only ones who climbed up roped up today, and only for the purpose of a fair weight distribution).
Snow quality
Better than expected! Above approx. 2900 compact powder (partly plus windswept or blown off), then faster, continuously heavier firn, from the end of the glacier rather sulz
Risks
Not particularly tricky on the normal route, pay attention to the catchment areas of wet snow avalanches further down and cross quickly if necessary!
Overall impression
Perfect weather, beautiful snow, so the three bad weather weekends we waited for paid off after all. Photos to follow
