Skitour am Cambre d‘Aze
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Rather poor snow conditions for the beginning of March, much less snow than in Capcir. Barely 50 cm at 2000 m, almost nothing below and very heterogeneous above. But the couloirs are well filled.
Snow quality
First rock hard, then quickly extremely soft with the sun.
Risks
The main danger here comes from stones and slipping on the ice in the morning. More snow is needed for avalanches.
Overall impression
Weathery days with a short ski tour and some lift riding on the Cambre d'Aze. It's a far cry from the fantastic conditions of last year (except for the couloirs, which are frozen hard all day).
