grandioser Tag auf der Zugspitze

Snow condition
50 cm of fresh snow with almost no wind. The one star is deducted because I did get a big mishap. There was a rock in the way under the loose fresh snow... But I don't want to race with my skis, so it's not that bad.
Snow quality
Powder without wind, who would have expected that after the last few days. Where the sun shone longer, the snow naturally became heavier at some point, but it was still great to ski.
Risks
The avalanche report was tightened up in the morning in view of the large amount of fresh snow and this was also confirmed in the terrain. Until 12 noon there were repeated explosions and I would say that almost every charge triggered a board of considerable size. A small board was triggered by a skier on an edge on a very steep slope.
Overall impression
Great day after weeks of dry spells. Unfortunately, there were several powder-hungry people up on the Zugspitze. At first, only the Sonnenkar lift was open. After a few minutes, most of it was already blown away. Brunntal was then added at 11 am. With the great sunshine, that was almost a little too late. At 12 noon, the Wetterwandeck lift also started moving.
From midday onwards, there was a strong wind, which quickly dumped a massive amount of snow.
By the early afternoon, you could still find a place where it was really fun. Really a great day.
