The recent northern thaw has brought around 90cm of fresh snow on the Seegrube. Down at the Hungerburg it must have been around 30cm. There is just enough snow to ski down to Hungerburg. However, due to the many skiers and the sunlight, some of the forest trails in the lower area are already in contact with stones. Old skis are currently recommended.

Fluffy powder snow, it could hardly get any better.

Risks

The avalanche warning service indicates a 3 above 1800 m and a 2 below, and it was blown up both yesterday and today in the morning hours. The Hafelekar wasn't open for winter sports today either. So I can't assess what the situation looks like at the top. There were no avalanche cones to be seen in either the cable car or the cirque, but you should still watch out for drift snow. However, both yesterday and today I felt little to no wind. There are few signs of wind in the snowpack. However, drifting snow that was previously transported and is now covered by fresh snow could pose a danger. A weak layer in the old snow cover, on the other hand, is unlikely to be present, as it was pretty much bare everywhere before the northern thaw.

Finally a real powder day again, as other people also checked the measurements and saw that it had snowed the most in Tyrol on the Seegrube, there was the usual pushing and shoving at the gondola in the morning. Once that was over, there were some nice descents. There were some nice "dives" along the way

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
