3 Heisse Wedeltage in Davos

Overall impression
Snow condition
The Prättigau has had a good dump over the last few days. Davos was spared most of the rain and the snow cover grew day by day. Over a meter in the town, more and more further up. Too little for all the wooden posts to be snowed in. Overnight there were two additional 15 cm.
Snow quality
Due to the relatively high temperatures, it was wet up to the Jakobshorn mid-station on Friday, and almost perfect powder above. Yesterday without wind and with pop, today the sun already had an influence on the snow quality, a dream on the north side almost as far as Davos.
Risks
Phew, rarely seen anything so tense. Friday in the forest, as long as there was no slope above, justifiable. The sun came out briefly and you could see the first huge cracks, especially in the ridges... and on the other side everything was covered with a treacherous carpet of powder. Saturday Bluebird and enormous blasting successes and self-releases. The Salezer Tobel was washed out from top to bottom and the avalanche almost made it into the lake. The deer we found in the avalanche cone did not. On Saturday we were on the moderate wedel slopes. But it's still exciting to see what happens in some places and how several people can get stuck on a slope. Insidious. Watch out. Approach very, very defensively. A lot of things look tempting because of the fresh snow and you're tempted to cut in somewhere. But when you see the cracks and the huge avalanche tracks, it's better to get back to a safe place. According to the SLF, it was a 3 yesterday, which was (corrected?) to a 4 today.
Overall impression
Actually, I would have to award 0* stars. If the ride ends after 100m because of a snow-covered wooden post, you have to call Rega and transport the rammer out of the forest, the weekend was pretty much over. We then did our laps in comfort and I've rediscovered the joys of wedeling over the last 2 days...
Avalanche conditions are likely to remain treacherous for some time yet.
