Snow condition
There are 2 meters more than last year on the same day on the Gruabn! (So 2 meters :P) Due to the recent warm spells and the rain that started this afternoon, the last stretch to Hungerburg is tricky but doable, and the amount of new snow is difficult to estimate as a lot has been transported and there is quite a lot of settling. Between 20-50cm on 1900 depending on the turn.
Snow quality
From 1900-1500 "powder sand" (snow crystals cut up by the wind) there was more and more moisture below, but up to 1200 lines in the deep forest were still rideable without the snow being too wet. In the end, however, it was a different picture every hour.
Risks
We only drove below the Seegruben through forest and mountain pines. You couldn't see much because of the whiteout. The fact that the LWT issues a 4 for certain altitudes in the region should be clear to everyone in the current weather chaos.
Overall impression
Wasn't bad at all, few people out and about, the skiable area is getting bigger and bigger due to the snow conditions. Snow quality was probably more fun for boarders. Will be a good base to go on a few tours when the weather calms down.
Stay safe!
