Snow condition
Ski touring is currently not possible on the south side of the Nagelfluhkette. Thanks to the cross-country ski trail, you can still get into the valley for a while without any problems. From 1400 meters you can speak of a continuous snow cover, but even this is thin and occasionally the base comes out. Below 1400 meters, ascent and descent are possible through a packed forest road and small-scale shaded slope sections, but the skis have to be carried a few meters several times.Tennenmooskopf and Siplinger Kopf look good as far as it was possible to see. So in total 2 stars.
Snow quality
Number of really fun turns: 0. At best it was hard-frozen or heavy, wet snow; at worst it was crushed slush; unfortunately the clouds meant that the snow was not soft today.
Risks
Old small slide in a wooded area with over 30 degrees. Today I had no concerns due to the predominantly very hard snow cover.
Overall impression
After the hard descent on the Grünten yesterday and the sunny weather forecast for today, I thought we might find firn on the south side. Unfortunately, the snow was still very hard on the descent at 5 a.m. Overall, the worst ski tour of my life
