Snow report Upper Black Forest, 02/25/2016
Nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht richtig gut im Hochschwarzwald

Overall impression
Snow condition
I was torn between giving it one or two stars today. The start at Stellenbach doesn't really deserve any. Stone contact can only be avoided with extreme caution and by skiing on the piste, but the slopes from 1,300 meters Immisberg and Zastler are the complete opposite and quite snow-covered - ski tours in the Black Forest are currently only possible well above 1,000 meters!
Snow quality
The three stars definitely only refer to Immisberg and Zastler, fluffy dry powder, 20 cm more and you should unpack your snorkel if there is 15-20 cm of fresh snow from Thursday. From time to time you still come across the hard old snow cover or avalanche cones, which tarnishes the joy a little.southern slopes have already got a light deer layer today.
Risks
Even though the warmth since my last visit a week ago has probably melted away some of the snow, there are immense cornices in the Zastler area that I would not mourn. Avalanche deposits indicate older avalanches. The current fresh snow seems to have come with little wind, so at least there should be no further danger here. However, I can't say how the snow cover is structured in the Black Forest.
Overall impression
Relaxed cruising on a weekday. Further snowfall is forecast for next week, so conditions should get even better.
Those who can should take advantage of tomorrow, Sunday should be worse with slight plus degrees and clouds on the Feldi.
