Not outstanding, but sufficient. We climbed off-piste and skied most of it on a slope that was already groomed but not yet open. I think we would have been able to get down in the terrain without contacting the enemy if we had chosen the right route.

Yesterday it rained all the way to the top. The top 150 m or so were evenly mushy, which was ok to ride. After that there was a crust on the top, which was a bit more challenging but still rideable. The slope was then quite nice.

Risks

Everything was unremarkable along our route, including no massive signs of wind. Towards the Blaicher Horn, for example, it was completely blown off, but locally the mixture of drifting and now wet snow is certainly not good.

Nice start to the season :-) I suspect this is one of the few tours in the Allgäu that is already going without any significant contact with the enemy. It will be exciting to see what is left after the next warm week, I suspect it will be very thin next to groomed slopes.
