Snow condition

the kl. walsertal has a much better snow situation compared to the allgäu, the tannheimers and also the anterior lechtal. from the valley, from baad and in the gemsteltal, all tours, in ascent and descent, are easily feasible. today we were in the gemsteltal and did not catch any sharks. the entrance and exit into the valley resembles, in the forest area, in the meantime an icy bobsleigh run. in the descent unrestricted free line choice possible.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

you can find everything, from ice, to hard snow, wind cover, moguls, to the good, set pow, on the north side. however, it is now very rough and only lasts a few meters, sometimes 50m, at a time.

Risks

safe. that actually describes the situation quite well.there are small areas of drifting snow in sections. on sunny slopes there is still a lot of sliding snow that has not yet disappeared.the zero degree line was still well below 2000m on the north and east sides today, despite a light foehn. the snow cover makes a very stable impression.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

much better than expected, very good weather, nobody on the road, relatively good snow and then absolutely enough, that's already a 3 together.
