Still wintry deep into the valleys. Big differences between the north and south slopes due to the snow build-up (see photo south side of Hählekopf)The north sector is partly rocky, so you have to ski carefully and only a few steep sections are possible without Shark Attack (see photo north-east descent of Grünhorn)There is far too much vegetation on the descent from Steinmandl. Either you have to let out mountain pine eating cows or 3 meters of fresh snow should crush them... so many great descents in later winter are unfortunately only possible to a limited extent

There is still plenty of powder. Unfortunately there is no photo evidence as the powder and therefore the skis were brutally fast. On the south-east side it gets a bit harder but not too much thanks to the low temperatures. But everything is quite rutted. With unorthodox crossings and risky little rivers. But there are still a few first tracks to be picked up.

Risks

Started the day relatively thoughtlessly with a 1 today and there were no signs of danger on the tour, there was surprisingly little wind here compared to all other areas such as Nebelhorn, Riezlern or Fellhorn (see CR 4 days ago).

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

Due to the lower wind influence, slightly higher amounts of fresh snow 1 week ago and the cold temperatures, there are still quite reasonable touring possibilities in Kleinwalsertal. Of course, everything under the signs: Low snow conditions, sharks occasionally still possible, difficult parking lot situation, and on other peaks a lot of snow has blown away or is melting out.
