Things are finally happening in the Black Forest. Since yesterday, the Seebuck chairlift has finally opened and there is already a fair amount of snow on the slopes that has fallen since Sunday. Due to the strong wind, it's difficult to estimate how much snow there really is. It could be 30 to 40cm in the areas protected from the wind.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Nice cold and fluffy fresh snow mixed with artificial snow, which is produced in continuous operation. Could be skied well.

Risks

I myself was only out and about on the piste today. The danger in the open terrain here is probably mostly from snow avalanches, as the snow has not yet settled well everywhere and is sometimes quite wet and heavy in the lower areas.

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

Wetter first day of skiing in the Black Forest with the Junior. The pistes were empty, so the atmosphere was uncharacteristically relaxed and friendly for the Feldberg. Only the pass road was hot, as there are once again truck drivers this winter who think they can ski without winter equipment. The first tours should be possible from tomorrow at the latest at higher altitudes without having to worry too much about the skis.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
