Every time I drive up to the Zugspitze this winter, there is less snow than before, even though there has been fresh snow. It probably only collects in the measuring stations and is otherwise carried away by the wind. I would like to know where...

The snow is influenced by the wind and is variable, sometimes more or less compacted or not present at all.

Skiing is only possible in snow-covered gullies, i.e. only where the danger spots are actually lurking...
Hidden rocks also pose a great danger and, should visibility deteriorate again, wind clouds that are then unrecognizable.
