Snow condition
Overall, the snow conditions in the KW valley are still good. Even though the south-facing slopes continue to thaw out, the north-facing slopes remain good. Under the north side of the Weisen Schrofen, even the finest waterfall ice can still be seen and it feels 10 degrees colder in the summit gully. The approach is possible from Baad by car. You have to unbuckle 2 times and carry 2 meters. Crampons are recommended on the approach. Höferspitze looked battered, but still very good. According to other tourers, Widderstein Südrinne has not been going well since today.
Snow quality
At around 2000 m in the north sector, choppy, wind-compressed but mostly loose powder cavorts between harder layers. Not easy to ski, but if you're up for it, it's a short dusting until you hit the next slab of ice.
Risks
Wet snow comes thundering down from sunny slopes into the cirque from time to time. Be careful in the typical wet snow corridors. You should also watch out for possible cornice breaks!
Overall impression
We wanted to climb the summit, but an ibex was happily lounging at the top and enjoying the sun to the full, so we headed straight off and left the rope on the backpack. Pow Nord over 2000 I would give the next few days a chance. The conditions are quite stable and the approaches are still doable without carrying
