Snow condition
Wow, I've never seen so much snow on the Titlis. At the beginning of the week, there was so much snow that the ski lift brackets were buried in snow and the chairlifts had to be shoveled out (see pictures). However, this only applies to the upper section - up to 1800 meters. In the village itself, the rain has clearly left its mark. At 1000 meters, there is not much of the white splendour left. But at least the valley descent is still easy to ski.
Snow quality
Unfortunately, all the snow has fallen with a lot of wind. The entire backcountry is therefore like a piste. But you know what.... There were so many people on the piste today that it was still 1000 times more fun off-piste.
Risks
SLF reports warning level 2, and indeed: the danger of slipping and falling somewhere on the hard ground is probably much greater at the moment than being buried by an avalanche.
Overall impression
What can I say... It was sunny, it was a good workout in difficult conditions and I was outside. But it was also quite exhausting with the wide slats in these conditions. In other words: it needs snow again - without wind, because the base is perfect...
