With the recent snowfall, there should be more than enough snow for the classic Black Forest tours again, and on the Kandel we went as far as Sägedobel and Altersbach, but you should know where the meadows are, above 7-800 meters the snow conditions are definitely sufficient.

Snow quality

Unexpectedly, around 20-30 cm of beautiful, dry fresh snow fell overnight.

Risks

The fresh snow does not seem to have such a good connection with the snow cover. On the well-known cornice slopes in the Upper Black Forest, the risk of avalanches and breakage should not be neglected, as an avalanche accident on Friday showed.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Yesterday I was still hoping for a tour before work, but unfortunately nothing happened afterwards. Apart from no longer being the first, there was little to complain about. Today on the Kandel north slope there were already a few on the way, the slope is already quite well tracked.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
