The amount of snow is not exactly great. But the snowfalls of the last week have ensured that there is a thick blanket of snow both on the mountain and in the valley. This means that some ski tours are already possible. As there is usually no old snow cover under the fresh snow that has fallen since the middle of last week, the terrain underneath must be taken into account when planning tours. There is around 20 cm in the valley and around 50-60 cm at 1600 m. When skiing downhill in the forest, as well as on stony ground, contact with the ground must be expected. Mountain pine belts are usually not covered in snow. The strong winds during the snowfall periods have also blown off entire slopes where you wouldn't actually expect it. Nevertheless, with the right choice of tour, a surprising amount is possible without having to worry too much about the equipment.

The snow quality was very good. The powder snow from the weekend had already settled a little, but it was still very nice to ski. On the north side, the sun still had no effect on the snow.

Risks

The situation is quite favorable. I couldn't detect any major drifts in the ridges. However, we were also very cautious today. At the same time, I couldn't observe any sliding snow slides.

Overall impression

As the snow cover already looks very compact, some fresh snow would be good now to remove the last question marks regarding the feasibility of tours.

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
